2010 Winter Anime
I’m not late! Winter hasn’t started yet! Who cares if I’m writing this in 2011?! Who cares if Scamp’s already posted the Spring chart (oh hey, Steins;Gate and Toriko)?! Who cares if nobody cares whether or not somebody cares? Probably just me, right ._.
And on the note of ‘2010’, not ‘2011’; pah! Winter’s not the first season of the year! It’s the last; everyone knows that! Winter starts on the solstice (the 22nd and 23rd) for us at O-NEW, not on December 1st, so SHUN everything that tells me Angel Beats was part of… er… never mind.
And it definitely isn’t 2011 Winter right now. No siree. See, this publish date says December 30th, at 23:59. Yep. That’s totally when I originally published it. That tag that says Rewrite History? All a sham! Yep, yep, nobody cares about this an-
On to the (totally not late, bec-
2010, Winter, Anime, Se-
EDIT: Well, I decided to change the tags. It’s not 2010 Winter. It’s 2011 Winter. Sorry about that! I mean, even the chart says that it’s 2011 Winter! :(
(Charts from Scamp; Alternate version, by Neregate (NSFW). Pictures
stolen used without credit for noncommercial purposes from other bloggers, MAL, Wikipedia, or ripped off Google. SUCKS TO BE YOU ANTI-HOTLINKERS CAUSE I COMPLETELY STOLE ALL OF THESE PICTURES Trailers definitely stol-er, obtained from other bloggers)
Oga Tatsumi is just a normal teenager living in Japan, when one day he has a baby. THEN THEY GO FIGHTIN PEOPLE TOGETHER
Loli nurse too with blobs on their head. I’m in~! If the first episode starts to look like Bakuman I’m just going to stop watching anime adaptions of manga I read.
Sendou Aichi is just a
normal nerdy teenager living without a plan, when one day he has cards. THEN HE GOES FIGHTIN PEOPLE BY HIMSELF
The main point of the show seems to be action, except what they’re really doing is playing cards, so I guess it’s a… psychological thriller? There’s only one way I would watch this, and that’s because the creator of the original card game also wrote the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga, and the first few chapters of that manga were BADASS. Then again, this anime seems to be a promo only for the game, while Yu-Gi-Oh only became a game, later…
Kisaragi Ryuji is just a normal teenager living in a strange land, when one day he has a dragon girl. THEN STUFF HAPPENS?!
I’ve got limited time this season due to stress and all that, so I’m skipping this. Doesn’t look promising at all.
Clain is just a normal teenager living in a ‘Fractale System’, when one day he has a weird girl. THEN THEY GO AROUND TALKING ABOUT TECHNOLOGY
Trailer WHAT TRAILER?!
I may be reading the manga, but I saw the trailer and it SUCKS SO BADLY I DON’T EVEN WANT TO (a.k.a. if the first episode is better than the trailer, blogging it)
Freezing or solidification is a phase change in which a liquid turns into a solid when its temperature is lowered below its freezing point.
My science teacher hates me, and the art doesn’t look especially… decent.
Kazuya Kujo is just a normal teenager living as a helpless victim, when one day he has a detective girl. THEN THEY GO AROUND SOLVING MYSTERIES
Yakumo was hard enough to bear for me. I’ll see episode one and see what happens, but odds aren’t very good.
Haiyoru! Nyaruani: Remember My Love(craft-sensei)
Nyarlko is just a normal Cthulhu deity living as a girl, when one day stuff happens. THEN STUFF HAPPENS in four-minute long episodes.
(So short that it doesn’t even have a trailer that I can give a horrible rating to)
It’s short, I’ll watch.
Houkago no Pleiades
Subaru is just a normal car maker company living in a hurdle, when one day they decide to create anime. THEN THEY CREATE ANIME
Nobody knows anything about this, but a trailer ending with ‘The Animation Project Drops this Winter!’ doesn’t sound appealing. Not watching purely because the trailer sucked.
Also known as “Wandering Son”, Shuuichi Nitori is just a normal boy living as a girl, when one day he has a girl who wants to live as a boy. THEN THEY TRADE GENDERS
Looks like it might be the one strange anime of the season, in a good way. Seeing as apparently there are like 92 chapters in publication already, I hope this won’t get… overdrawn :v
IS: Infinite Stratos
Orimura Ichika is just a normal boy living in a world where only women can use mecha weapons, when one day, he has a mecha weapon. THEN HE SHOOTS ALIENS THAT DON’T EXIST
Sorry, no way.
Kimi ni Todoke Season 2
MAL: “Sequel to the first season. Sawako Kuronuma is misunderstood due to her resemblance to the ghost girl from The Ring. But one day the nicest boy in the class befriends her. Lots of blushing and hand holding follow.”
Heh, the sphere’s pretty balanced between complete fangirl/boy lovers and haters. I’ll stay neutral, but I might watch it after I resume the manga (which shall I mention I put on hold a year ago) :v
Kore wa Zombie desu ka?
This person gets killed and becomes a zombie. Then magical girls and shit.
There’s a catgirl with a Chensaw. But she’s not Chen. Nope.
There is a system of aliens beyond our own. They have classified us as being part of the ‘Level C’ (where ‘Level A’ is the least technologically advanced), and as thus, only ‘Level D’, ‘Level C’, and ‘Level B’ beings are allowed to be in contact with us. This balance has worked out for centuries, until one day, Tsutsui Yukitaka (a first year high-school student), meets a ‘Level E’ alien…
Actually, I made all that up but it sounds pretty believably bad :v Also, mangaka wrote Yu Yu Hakusho which was even worse than the zombie anime, except after the person dies no Chensaw-catgirls appear. This may be a surprise hit (or else, why would they animate it 13 years after its original release?) though, so I’ll see how it feels.
Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica
La fille progresse-est magique. (The girl is, in a progressive form, i.e. becomes, magical)
I’ve been purposely avoiding hyped-up shows solely because the studio was good, though for what reason I’m unsure of. It’s gonna be a busy season, and I’m not sure watching cute middle school girls fly around and shoot people is a good use of my time :X
IT’S LIKE SO MITSUDO-MOÉ
OH YES. Er, no, I’m not perverted. Will finish up the old HSR as soon as I have time.
Moshidora (Moshi Koukou Yakyuu no Joshi Manager ga Drucker no Management wo Yondara)
Some girl manages a baseball team, learns about management, and leads the team to victory.
This will start near the end of the season, and broadcast every day for ten days. It’s also about management. *brain’s dead* Huh
Onii-chan no Koto Nanka Zenzen Suki Janain Dakara ne!!
Ore no Onii-chan ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai.
Trailer, though I’d seriously advise you against looking at it.
Rio -Rainbow Gate-
Most anime’s adapted from anime. Some are from light novels. Some are from games. Some are original works. Rio, on the other hand, is a character from…
…a slot machine.
[Insert Star Symbol Here, because it’s that important, just like the exclamation mark at the end of everything. Oh, and it might be a pun too, get it, starry sky? That’s why they have a star? But y’know, because it already says Starry Sky, adding another star would be simply redundant. Or maybe it’s saying that there’s more than one ‘star’ in the sky? In which case, this being a reverse harem, you’d then know that it’s going to go like Amagami SS, the
whore main character ending up with all of the people. At the same time. It’s Japan, yo, the one place on Earth that a) doesn’t have a star on their flag, b) isn’t as awesome as China, NATO, Turkey, Vietnam, and definitely not Nunavut (because I’m telling you we’ll have NUN OV IT) and c) has an infinite supply of schools to turn co-ed. For the last one, it’s obvious that right after the main character marries all of the other main characters, the school quits being co-ed because there’s no harem anymore. For the second one, yeah, admit it, you bullied China during the second world war, and bullying them more now isn’t going to make you look any better. Finally, for the first one, maybe this anime is produced in Nagasaki, so that they could preserve some of their cultural heritage by forcing us to type in stars on our posts. Well, sorry nagasakians, but fuck you, because there will NOT BE A STAR ON THIS POST]
An all-boys school is turned into co-ed, just like every single other school in Japan, and around the world, and in the future, and when mechas exist, and when Japan stops existing as a country, and even when there are no all-gender’d schools to turn into co-ed because there just has to be a school that gets turned into co-ed or else they couldn’t think of a meaningful scenario in which you could lump a bunch of one gender with one or two of the opposite sex. Mar? I haven’t got a gram of it.
Fanmade PV (just a jumble of pictures so I stopped half a minute in)
[Insert quaver here, because that’s how we all must type this title from now on. With three capitals and a quaver, Alt + 9834, how do you even type that?!]
Wikipedia: “Mephisto, the ruler of Minor Land, threatens the world by spreading the Melody of Unhappiness throughout the human world.”
(If there was a trailer, I’m sure the music would suck)
Supernatural the Animation
Some American show about supernatural stuff gets animated, because having an anime version of it will be so different from the normal version.
When… did they decide to make so many adaptations like this? I haven’t actually read (m)any comics, so I guess I’ll see what this is like…
Fujiwara no Yumeji can predict what kind of dream anyone can have next night. Since he gained this ability ten years ago, he started to dream about catgirls. Every. Single. Night. One day a girl falls on top of him.
Hey, produced by J.C. Staff. Index had a church-girl suddenly fall on someone’s balcony, and that was decent, though we can only see if this will be…
Anyways, the above are all of the multi-episode closed new series starting in Winter. Non-series that will be
consumed and puked up for your viewing pleasure reviewed include Roberta’s Blood Trail (why do they need so long to make something like that anyways), Norageki! (which really sounds quite interesting), Bleach – Jigoku-hen (I was talking about that last season already!), and… yeah. That’s it, honestly without many things worth watching, but with many things not worth watching. The magic of Winter, neh? ;)
