As I said last Ore no Kouhai post, Ore no Kouhai posts are going to just be about life and shit because the manga itself is so stupid.
So here’s an obligatory Densetsu no Yuusha no Densetsu Half Season Review (a.k.a. the Legend of the Legendary Heroes and tl;dw), in my pitiful attempt to write all those posts that I didn’t write, and also to free up disc space because god, I need to free up disc space. I have six episodes of tl;dw in there that are just begging to be finished :(
I’ll put them out of their misery!»
[It’s now December 23rd of 2011, but apparently, I watched these episodes on December 10th of LAST YEAR, made the post on December 18th, and revised everything on April 4th, 2011. I have no idea why I didn’t publish it then(yuuden), so here it is, now. Yes, the writing style is different, because I wrote this post, eh, y’know, a year ago. Around December 11th, 2010, actually…]
I ‘play the lute’, if you know what I mean»
[Announcement: Since I’m still somewhat connected to the MS world via my brother, the Big Bang Event is now… on? Watch the trailer to see how making THREE DEE ANIMATIONS OF TWO DEE WORLDS DON’T MAKE SEENSE]
SIDNE(that). Anywho, seeing as I haven’t really watched this for quite a while now, plot details will be fuzzy and/or incorrect. Bear with me, please – I’ll sorten things out after the next Half Season Review.
Post-Pre-Post-Edit: It’s been what a month since I started writing this post and I’ve come back to it. So first I delay it for a month after the episodes, now I delay it for a month after I start writing it. Time to get this over with ._.
DID I JUST SAY TIME WHY DOES IT KEEP APPEARING WHEN I OBVIOUSLY CAN’T HAVE ANY APPEAR
A Half Season Review just has to be half a season right? Doesn’t matter where that half-season starts, as long as it’s 6/7 episodes…
Let’s just say this review will be… much cleaner than the previous episode post. Then again, since I’m wading through the mistakes of my past, it’ll be much less cleaner than the previous Half Season Review. Nevertheless, as it’s tl;dw, the plot comes here in massive chunks – there’s like, no filler. It’s…
Is it just me or do I feel sorry for the horses?
It is revealed that Miran engineered an uprising against Sion, so that he could kill them all at once.
Meanwhile, over at Estabul, some guy named Salawel holds the populace hostage so that Roland won’t attack.
This is very sad news for Claugh, the leader of the invasion, who apparently wants the least amount of casualties.
Now I understand why the rate of colourblindness amongst men is so high
Roland attacks anyways – or rather, Miran attacks.
Then, just as Miran was going to kill Noa, Salawel takes her away.
Then, just as Salawel was going to kill Noa, Miran kills him.
Then, just as Miran was going to kill Noa, Claugh appears to fight.
Then, just as Claugh was going to kill Miran… you get the drift here.
Noa convinces them not to fight, and in return, subdue the people of Estabul to follow Roland in whatever it does.
MY MAKEUP WENT JUST AS PLANNED
Following that, Claugh and Noa are peacefully doing whatever they’re doing when SUDDENLY a bunch of ninjas decide to rape her. Claugh kills them all cause he doesn’t like creepy ninja rapists. On the other hand, I like repetition, but I don’t like creepy ninja rapists either. I’m sure many of you like creepy ninja rapists though.
Not sure what that has to do with the story, but…
Must be unattractive, then
Anywho, Gastark Empire is currently annexing a bunch of small kingdoms, eventually taking over two thirds of Imperial Stohl (a country with five times the military power of Gastark) and killing a bunch of people, so Miran and Sion decide a political purge is the best idea to unify the Roland empire for war. Miran starts killing creepy old people, first individually, then eventually using his father’s influence to assemble all of the anti-King nobles in Roland in a single room.
Karlal Froaude (a creepy ninja child rapist) isn’t the least aware of this, as Duke Stearied and Miran manage to trap them all inside the room, killing all. Eventually, Miran reveals that he killed his own entire family, leaving only Karlal as a pawn.
But the Duke didn’t Nuke them, but got nuked himself by a person with peach-coloured hair, obviously one of Sui and Kuu’s siblings (revealed as Lir by a side remark in episode 14). The peach-hair guy has the same type of ring that Miran has, with exactly the same power. However, as he couldn’t use magic, lest it reveal to Miran which kingdom he is from, it seemed as if Miran would win… until he used an ‘Iino Doue Crystal’, vaporizing all the human bodies and shadow beasts in the room.
BUT THE WALLS THE WALLS AREN’T DESTROYED NEITHER ARE THE DOORS AND FLOORS (if I keep on writing like this I’ll have to tag all my aniposts as rants, so I’ll stop)
Claugh comes and rescues Miran because he’s too important to the plot to die.
Yureru mawaru fureru setsunaaaaaaaaai kimochi~
Finally, Sui and Kuu Orla convince the Runa Empire King (who was already plotting to kill Sion anyhow) to ally with the Gastark Empire, which the three siblings belong to.
The new OP/season starts with some more Kiefer, revealing that she was actually a double agent – forced by the former tyrannical King of Roland to become Roland’s spy, acting as an Estabul spy spying on Roland.
Arriving at Stohl, she arrives to stop Gastark from invading, and is saved by… the King of Gastark?
Refal Edia posses a Rule Fragment too, the Sacred Sword Glouvil, which takes something from him (having lost his right leg, sense of smell, and left eye) in return for tremendous destructive power, overwhelming even a massive spell chanted by 3,333 monks from St. Peter’s Basilica.
He believes in the nuclear bomb tactic – throw at an enemy a large amount of causalities, so that more people can be saved (this is arguable; I’m using Japan as an analogy, so don’t tell me how the bombs were horrible), so really, he’s a pacifist.
Y’know, if he was smarter he would’ve added a ‘brow’ to the end of that sentence so that Sui wouldn’t eat it
Politics over, Ryner and Ferris receive and misinterpret an order from Sion to retreat cause the dragon would stupidly overpower them. Instead, they charge straight into the field, encountering numerous dead bodies along the way.
Sui and Kuu appear, revealing that they took the Dolueli Swordscale that summoned the dragon last episode. Killing all witnesses to preserve the secret of the relics, an unavoidable battle starts.
Unfortunately, Ryner and Ferris are still stupidly overpowered. Sui stabs his own arm with the Dolueli Swordscale (because his arm would totally regrow later), turning it into a GIANT DRAGON that can burn ANYTHING HE WANTS (which is why the dragon before was harmless, as the ground wasn’t too masochistic). Sui also has the Comb of Elemio, another Rule Fragment/Hero Relic/whatever that nullifies all magic that reaches him. His sister, Kuu, has the Scythe of Ailuchrono, which allows her to become stupidly overpoweredly fast, stupidly overpoweredly strong, and freezes anything the scythe touches. She doesn’t even have to stab her own arm!
Working out now, are we
Right before escape, Sui uses something to invoke the Alpha Stigma in Ryner, believing that his Comb of Elemio could stop any magic coming at him, so as to let him… kill Ryner and take his crystallized eyeballs out?
Oh, too bad. Sui’s arm falls off.
Some of Ryner’s past is revealed, as to save his village, he had to use the Alpha Stigma. Yet, his village forced him out as a monster.
Ferris then sings Ryner a lullaby and he falls asleep.
Following that, Ryner and Ferris go to the small town of Regit in the Runa empire, when SUDDENLY a bunch of teenagers decide to chase a small girl. Ferris kills them all cause she doesn’t like creepy teenager chasits.
So Arua’s a double-trap?
The girl is Kuku, and after a bunch of soldiers decide to kill a bunch of people, her friend, Arua, uses the ALPHA STIGMA and kills a bunch, but still gets captured.
Ryner and Ferris set out to free him, but the holy righteous and good magic knights of Runa, under the direction of their all-knowing, omnipotent, and loving God decides to STAB ARUA’S FATHER TO DEATH CAUSE THAT’S WHAT RELIGIOUS PEOPLE DO
Anyways, Arua tries to kill Ryner with his newly awakened ALPHA STIGMA, but Ryner punches him in the gut and takes him away.
…Unfortunately, Kuku was kidnapped, and now Sui and Kuu are trying to capture Arua as well (remember, Sui likes to eat eyeballs). Their new allegiance with Runa Empire is clearly set when Runa soldiers come to capture Ryner and Ferris, as Sui and Kuu escape, informing Ryner the location of Kuku’s captivity.
I, also, learn, that, overusing, commas, is, stupid, like, trying, to, memorize, what, 0,000,001th, of, a metre, is,
Ryner and Ferris hellishly train Arua till he becomes a valuable battle asset by himself – but the Orla siblings don’t know this. He doesn’t really do anything but distract the siblings.
IT’S NOT WORKING
Sui’s other arm now falls off, but not cause the Swordscale failed, but because Miran’s Shadow Beasts bit it off.
Miran leaves. The end?
Oh jeez, it’s getting hard enough to say anything meaningful about this, seeing as I don’t really remember anything, and this post is messy enough as it is. That said, I won’t even try to delve into the emotional depths of the characters, and these HSRs are here only for the plot. Here’s what I think’s happening so far, because right now, delving into the individual characters and plot is like finding hay in a needlestack – it’d hurt me quite a bit. That’s why I’m adding individual characters to a show like Index, but not to this. Even Durarara has less characters than this. But not Bleach. I am NOT introducing the characters of Bleach. Ever. Really, I can’t wait till this is over, cause then everything will be tied up. People who don’t get anything I’m writing, just stop reading, or actually watch it. It’s the brilliance of tl;dw that allows it to be so complicated, yet so understandable. A picture is worth a thousand words, neh?
But now that I have eight arms…
Roland’s fighting against Nelpha, but Miran goes and kills all of the anti-king conspirators there, leaving them as allied kingdoms.
Noa Ehn of Estabul then comes to Roland, uniting Roland, Estabul, and Nelpha into one side.
Imperial Stohl is against Gastark, and since Gastark is with Runa, and Runa is against Roland, Stohl is technically fighting with Roland. I guess Stohl’s somewhat in the middle, although it boasts tremendous military capabilities as well.
Gastark Empire is against Roland, though it’s all just a misunderstanding – if they allied (seeing as they had the same intentions), the whole thing would be over. Then again, that’s war – giant misunderstandings.
The Runa Empire supports the previous king, and thus is against Roland. At the same time, they were coerced into being allied with Gastark – thus, they are still against Roland.
In conclusion I’m about as confused as that picture will make you be.
After recently watching half a season of tl;dw (DenYuuDen/the Legend of the Legendary Heroes), in which Ryner assassinates several dozen soldiers to rescue one kid with an Alpha Stigma, because those soldiers were terrorizing the kid just because he had the Alpha Stigma. This can be considered an act of terrorism (killing so many people to save one), or an act of heroism (saving that one, wrongly accused kid).
In a school assignment parallel to the timeline of my watching tl;dw (my life is an anime~!), the English teacher assigned us to read about Noam Chomsky, in which he degrades American society, counter-terrorism, and propaganda in the media.
Obvious connections were set up – and thus, I present to you, an anime editorial – Noam Chomsky: The Justice of the Powerful Heroes.
“Those who stand at the top determine what’s wrong and what’s right! This very place is neutral ground! Justice will prevail, you say? But of course it will! Whoever wins this war becomes Justice!!!”
-Donquixote Doflamingo, One Piece
Though One Piece may be, Doflamingo’s statement is not at all quixotic, reflecting much of history’s and present-day political situations.
Without straying from the unrealities of One Piece, let us think about two differing viewpoints.
Imagine that you are a pirate. The corrupt World Government, composed of narcissists such as Axe Hand Morgan has been completely overthrown during the Battle of Marineford. People are free to wander the seas, to do what they please; to just enjoy life. Gone are the slave-trading programmes of old, gone are the elitist Nobels, gone are the presence of Noble prizes, gone are my stupid spelling mistakes. The world is free to do whatever they want, the characters are happy, etc.
If you can’t imagine a world like that, then try harder because I suck at adjectifying.
Alright. Now imagine again, that you are a commoner. Those evil pirates, sea-thieves who steal all our precious gold and money have all died away, and finally, an organized government is in control of the world. Public health care and education are provided, and more jobs are being created than ever. The economy is booming after an era of collapse.
In both ways, you can see that the end result (as long as you are on the right side) is ‘favourable’ and ‘justified’.
In this essay/editorial, I’d like to convince everyone about one, simple opinion (fact).
Justice is relative.
“High ideas were besmirched by cruelty and greed, enterprise and endurance by a blind and narrow self righeousness, and the Holy War itself was nothing more than a long act of intolerance in the name of God, which is a sin against the Holy Ghost.”
Sir Steven Runciman, The History of the Crusades
Now, let us journey back to the past (or is it the future?) from such fanciful surroundings and become acquainted with some of the more… realistic examples of this “duality of justice” – the Crusades.
– Anything controversial is controversial.
This point seems quite obvious, just as 1 + 2 = 1 + 2, or even 1 = 1. Regardless, what I mean is that anything that can be debated, anything that has sides, anything that you can have an opinion on (everything) – is relative to the opinion of the individual.
Here’s an allusion to my second idea about individualized opinions.
Anywho, there are two obvious opinions here – that the Crusades was a ‘justified’ thing to do, and that it was ‘unjustified’. Both have sides. However, as a Christian residing in the circumstances of the Crusades, one can be fairly certain of what you will support; as will it be with a Muslim of the same settings.
Because there are two separate opinions, and both of them are ‘justified’, how will you actually determine which one actually is ‘justice’?
In direct (and perhaps, a bit too anticipated) opposition to Runciman’s speech about ‘intolerance’, Pope Gregory VII has argued (over ten centuries ago) that it was ‘justified violence’.
But just how was it justified?
“I speak in the name of the entire German people when I assure the world that we all share the honest wish to eliminate the enmity that brings far more costs than any possible benefits… It would be a wonderful thing for all of humanity if both peoples would renounce force against each other forever. The German people are ready to make such a pledge.”
Adolf Hitler, October 1933
Since this essay is more about the present than the past, shall we begin the long walk forward? A definite controversial topic currently are the actions of Nazi Germany during World War II.
– The winning side determines the winning argument.
As Doflamingo has put (rather bluntly, if I may say so myself) out, whoever wins automatically becomes justice. Right now, by most (if not already all) of the populace, World War II was a terrible thing, forced by evil, racist, dictators who wanted nothing but to kill and corrupt.
However, was that all just ‘justified violence’?
Approximately 5.5 million German soldiers were killed – just about equal to the people who died in the Holocaust. More than 3.2 million German civilians were killed – and not part of the Holocaust, which means that most of them were killed by Allied soldiers.
That’s still 3,200,000 innocent people killed. Is that still alright?
Taking World War II is a rather extreme example, as more than 25 million other civilians were killed as well, so yes, I suppose it was justified.
However, what if you were in Germany during the war?
You’d be bombed almost daily by foreign soldiers without hope of escape. Wouldn’t you feel hate towards them? If Germany won the war, wouldn’t you think the Allies would get disgraced for their cruel mistreating of right and honest citizens?
“Waging war to eliminate war? You’re contradicting yourself!”
Kiefer Knolles (in reply to Refal Edia), the Legend of the Legendary Heroes
Let’s take another example from this war – the nuclear bombs. If they didn’t drop it, hundreds of thousands of civilians would have survived. If they didn’t drop it, possibly millions of military and civilians would perish in the forthcoming land-based assault as well. But we won’t know. For all we know, Japan might have surrendered before the first US troop set foot on the land.
– Other paths are unknown.
We don’t know that we’ve actually ‘saved’ lives. Maybe, if the Axis won, world peace would’ve been reached and there wouldn’t have been any more war, ever. Maybe, if the Holocaust hadn’t happened, some guy (who had been killed) might release a worldwide epidemic comparable or greater than that of the Black Death.
Thing is, we don’t know.
Thusly, we can’t /say/ that this was the lesser of two evils. We can generalize and say that this is /probably/ the lesser of two evils, but we will never know.
Which means, whether or not something really is ‘justified’ is impossible to determine – we can’t see whether it’s better or worse, because we only have one path to take.
I could steer this in the topic of fate being predetermined, but that’d be straying way off my intended path; let’s continue with…
“We can’t quite decide if the world is growing worse, or if the reporters are just working harder.”
the Houghton Line, November 1965
…media. Ever since the beginnings of logical thought and information processing, people needed some way to relay information outwards; generally towards the general (no pun intended) audience.
– The media distorts the winning argument.
Distorts sounds like a much more negative word than creates, doesn’t it?
Anywho, whilst the powerful rulers may create an argument, the media distorts it to as to make it more presentable for the populace. While the information may be “people accidentally eat poisonous Russian mushrooms and five people die shortly thereafter”, the media may choose to present it as “Russian mushroom kills five people”, causing subconscious sublimal messages evaluating that the mushrooms were poisoned by Russians, intentionally to kill people.
Everything can be opinionated. This essay is strongly opinionated, though I try my best to keep it neutral (that’s impossible though, unless it’s a report). Can you tell it’s opinionated? If you can, you’re smart. If you can’t; don’t worry, more than 5 billion other people can’t either (can’t say the same for the other billion).
After the winning argument is presented in a much more biased format, the populace can be coerced to agree with its terms as being righteous. After anything goes through the media, an intended result is almost always produced.
Anyways, let’s review: Everything has an argument. However, other paths are unknown, so the argument is always biased. The winning side creates the argument for the winning side, and the media further distorts it for the people.
By Sixten (Adrian Ferrer)
“The books that the world calls immoral are books that show the world its own shame.”
Lord Henry, The Picture of Dorian Gray
Now, what’s actual morality? Let’s take this into a completely different analogy – manners. Aren’t they defined by humanity?
– Morality is defined by humanity.
Manners are something that all people are expected to have. Being polite, etc. However, even in contemporary society, it varies from country to country. Whereas a burp in Western society would have negative connotations, in China, it can be considered a sign of a good meal.
Are not manners and morality almost synonyms? Moral consequences of one society and another are completely different; showcasing that in all terms, morality is not strictly defined by anyone.
Because it does vary, it means that the morality is determined by the individual, the group, the collective society – by humanity.
Humanity determines morality; something immoral today might as well become common practice in the world of tomorrow.
“…of the people, by the people, for the people…”
Abraham Lincoln, the Gettysburg Address
Now, do you see? The information is now highly opinionated and densely riddled with bias. It’s impossible for the population to resist its justifiable urges. Morality is already being determined by humanity, so if all of humanity devours this bias…
– People determine justice.
After people have been fed a highly biased entry from the general media (Russian mushroom murderers!), they can be led to determine what is ‘right’ and ‘wrong’. From the entry, they can say that the Russian mushrooms are ‘wrong’, and with further distortion, that the Russians are ‘wrong’ and ‘immoral’.
Here’s where Noam Chomsky comes in. Read his books; he’s a self-defined militant Anti-Zionist strongly opposed to the United States and ‘counter-terrorism’ in Israel against the Palestinians.
Now, from his point of view, the United States are really the terrorists; killing thousands of innocent people just to kill one target, with no media consequences, whereas if that happened in the United States (9/11), even the repercussions would incite fear.
From our point of view, the Palestinians are the terrorists, with us (the US, even though I’m Canadian) being the innocent civilians caught in the cross-fire.
This obviously shows that the people determine what is right or wrong.
I conclude this essay here. Hopefully, all of my points have been fully, or at least extensively elaborated upon to deliver an accurate conclusion on the subject.
Needless to say, this has not been extensively researched, as time constraints would limit upon me. However, if public opinion desires, I will expand on this topic in many different directions in the future.
As a final summary: Everything has a side. The winning side will seem more ‘justified’, as the winning side will distort their won to be more biased, and seem more ‘right’. However, at the end, ‘justice’ is merely something determined by humanity, so if the winning side has more people convinced that their side is ‘right’, their side, as Doflamingo conjectured, becomes, justice.
– Justice is relative.
Ryner has been revealed ta be a very abusive sex offender, as Ferris has commented on several times before.
Everyone is APPALLED by this DISASTER and Ferris KILLS HIM ONCE AND FOR ALL
…ish. It’s good with hero ketchup and hero mustard :V
…Actually, no. After 10 minutes nothing really happens besides these pink-haired people going into a bar and cracking a lame joke. Actually it’s not even a bar it’s an underground tomb. Or something. I don’t know this episode was confusing alright
Then it cuts to Milk and her reverse harem who happen ta be eating with hero forks and hero knives
No, no, it’s just ta hero onions
She decides ta kill Ferris and rescue Ryner who must be suffering very much
But they get pwnt
SO THEY SAD AND STUFF
Ryner ties them ta a tree or something and finds a HERO DAGGER which would taste EXCELLENT on his HERO HOTDOG with HERO CHEESE and CANADIAN BACON.
Unfortunately, Ferris believes that a HERO SWORD would taste better
Sion recruits Thatguywhodiedwho’stoounimportanttorememberhisname’s little sister as his… I’m gonna leave this up ta yar imagination :V
Then a bunch of people come and Ryner kills them all or something with a giant nuke
It’s not 42
BUT THEN THEY’RE STILL ALIVE WAIT DIDN’T HE KILL THEM ALL WHO CARES
RYNER throws ta dagger into ta ground
AND THEN GIANT DRAGONS APPEAR
Our job here… is done.
I’M RUNNING OUT OF TIME I NEED TA GET TA A PIANO LESSON AND THIS POST WAS WRITTEN ON FRIDAY OR SOMETHIN

Look at her face ta find ta answer
Notice she has no neck
THIS EPISODE of TL;DW (which I recently found means “too long, didn’t watch”, but is actually “too long, didn’t write” in my book, however it probably took longer for me to write this explanation than it would take if I wrote “tl;dw” as “the Legend of the Legendary Heroes” but who cares anyways?!) starts with SION arguing with a bunch of PEOPLE on whether he should take a VACATION/GET A LIFE or not. At the end he decides to get a life so he passes Go and collects $200.
Miran ominously flashes his RED RING OF DOOM that can’t possibly be a special attack or anything like that
SORRY YOUR XBOX HAS JUST SHUT DOWN. PERMANENTLY. SO HAS YOUR COMPUTER. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THAT HUH
Sion visits Nelpha where the KING gets SLAPPED by his SON.
Sion gets tired of these multi-anime crossovers and goes to talk to Ryner and random crap :/
After retiring Shanks took on a new outlook of life
Sion then hosts a ball while looking melancholically out the window.
While Sion’s being emo-depressed Miran goes and kills everyone.
EXCEPT FOR ONE PERSON – TOALE NELPHI. SO NOW HE GOES TO KILL TOALE NELPHI
BUT TOALE NELPHI IS SKILLED IN MAGIC
AND TOALE NELPHI 2 WHO HAPPENS TO BE FEMALE
Wait this doesn’t make sense
OHHHHHHHhhh they’re not Toale Nelphis they’re other random people.
The other random people figure out his weak point! He controls shadows with his RING that he got after his ancestor cut the hand off of some random dude. If the random people take his ring HE’S DOOMED.
So Miran goes away. THE END.
Life is just a SPOON
Yeah, this episode was a nice relaxing one that still managed to build in some plotline advancements. Still don’t get main point of the story though – Sion wants to RULE THE WORLD, Ryner wants to FIND HERO LYRICS, or Ferris wanting to… eat… dango? Miran is obviously very very awesome, but I don’t see how “strong” he can be if all he relies on is his ring. Obvious future plotline get: Miran LOSES HIS RING in a CRITICAL MOMENT and uses his POWERS that he wanted to HIDE to SAVE THE WORLD and killing himself in the process or something stupid like that.
That red-haired son looks really stupid, and I’m pretty sure he’ll die really soon. If he wasn’t already killed this episode. Honestly, I couldn’t care less.
Ryner x Ferris = awesomeness.
Finally, I do hope that Milk comes back into the series sometime soon. Her and Iris are just epic.
But this isn’t a desk this is a finely disguised giant mushroom
[Announcement: I AM FINISHED THE MUSIC EXAM THINGY! So… I won’t have more time to post stuff either because I didn’t study anyways… :/ But abd should be able to post now (as if he was studying either cough cough)! And the half season review season (try saying that 5 times fast) is coming up this week; prepare to be spammed by useless posts you don’t need to read~!]
But not Neko Miko Reimu, though I did spend an absurdly long time on danbooru looking at that
The chapter starts when RYNER tries to RAID a LIBRARY but the LIBRARY raids HIM cause he’s in IMPERIAL NELPHA. So he goes out and saves Reimu who was just going to HAX SIGN BURN EVERYTHING. Because of that some random guy lets him enter the library.
The random guy is LORD TOALE, the GRANDSON of the KING OF NELPHA!
But he’s really sad so he’s treated like some commoner guy.
Cue slap noises
Anyways back at the castle place Sion is doing random crap and Fiole comes in to say random crap but it’s not random crap because it’s a PLOTLINE RELATED EVENT
Because he’s been murdered.
Because he’s just a commoner all the kings and stuff laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh
Sorry, but no necroyaoi for you you sick bastard :<
Bunch of random things happen, then THE AWESOMEST CHARACTER IN THIS WHOLE ANIME COMES AND BEATS UP RYNER CAUSE SHE’S AWESOME LIKE THAT.
BEST. FUCKING. CHARACTER. EVER. Well, in this anime at least. AND IF YOU DARE SO NO… >:(
Sion then meets with some really really evil-looking guy called MIRAN Froaude. He tells Sion that he’ll kill everyone for him (of course, not so bluntly) or something. Sion highers him. Hires.
DUM DUM DUM
Surprisingly enough I didn’t edit many images (just one) this time, maybe because this episode was AWESOME or maybe because I just want to sleep. Or maybe, because this episode “certainly wasn’t exciting”.
Perhaps this is because everything was too drawn out – I mean, look at the brevity of my summary compared with other episodes. The entire episode only really had 4 parts – they meet Toale in the library, Fiole is murdered, Iris is AWESOME, and Miran is introduced. That’s all. They could have fit all of that into 5, 10 minutes – everything else was unnecessary. Those 4 points are the only things that mattered this episode.
This directly contrasts to previous (non-jail, because Ryner talking to the guard could have been summed up in one point – Ryner talked to the guard) episodes, in which tons of random stuff happened that are actually somewhat important to the plot.
It’s probably all just a matter of pacing anyways.
Another interesting thing is how quickly Fiole gets killed – although it could be that tl;dw doesn’t care about plot armour and Ryner might be killed in chapter 7 letting ERIS be the protagonist (YEAAAAAAAAAAAAH), it’s also likely they just did that to make it seem like they had no plot armour and weren’t cliché; but in reality they still are, cause honestly Fiole just appeared once. Or twice. See, I don’t remember – meaning he’s unimportant.
In both of the remaining bloggers of this show (everyone’s shifting to Shiki and Amagami SS :/ ), it’s agreed on that the interactions between Ferris/Ryner are highlights. BUT IRIS IS THE BEST
AND I SHALL STAND BY THAT
^ WHAT’S THE FUCKING WEATHER
What, there’s a swarm of children here
What is the relationship between the complexity classes polynomial time and nondeterministic polynomial time?
Sion meets with Lucile who informs him that HE IS STUPID and that Lucile is the KING OF THE WORLD
Then Ryner goes into jail where HE DOESN’T GET AWESOME FUTONS
Because he can’t get futons he can only get books from the library, which his “prison” (apparently, it’s the guard’s backyard) guard gets for him. They then talk about random stuff for the majority of the episode.
At least Patchy has bookshelves
THE EVIL KING
AND REALLY REALLY BAD KING
AND EXECUTE HIM
Anyways Ryner’s jailkeeper gets depressed when he learns that his three-year old daughter has a boyfriend.
Maybe that's Yuuka crossdressing
It is revealed that Ryner has been without showers for TWO YEARS and thus he STINKS REALLY REALLY REALLY BADLY
and also he’s been writing some RESEARCH REPORT but that’s IRRELEVANT because Ryner being STINKY is much much more important
Anyways some EVIL
Angry, atrocious, bad, baneful, base, beastly, calamitous, corrupt, damnable, depraved, destructive, disastrous, execrable, flagitious, foul, harmful, hateful, heinous, hideous, iniquitous, injurious, loathsome, low, maleficent, malevolent, malicious, malignant, nefarious, no good, obscene, offensive, pernicious, poison, rancorous, reprobate, repugnant, repulsive, revolting, spiteful, stinking, ugly, unpleasant, unpropitious, vicious, vile, villainous, wicked, wrathful, yay for dictionary.com, and wrong
AND ATTACKS HIM
And Ryner CAN’T KEEP UP
SO HE GETS STABBED
A THOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSAND TIMES

AND THUS THE STORY ENDS AT CHAPTER -1
…Yeah. This episode seems to be unanimously worse than the previous one in terms of action; but that doesn’t mean it’s bad, it just means the previous episode was good.
While watching Black Lagoon, I came upon an interesting expression – Stockholm Syndrome. Basically, it’s when some guy who gets captured (e.g. gets held hostage on an epic torpedo ship known as the black lagoon, or gets trapped in a jail in some old guy’s backyard) has positive feelings towards their capturer (e.g. joining the Lagoon Company, or informing old people about how three-year-olds have boyfriends nowadays).
I was wondering as to why this episode wanted to show this – and then I realized; character development.
“Wait, what?!” you’d say.
But no; by showing Ryner being calm and good-humoured even in a jail cell after seeing so many of his friends killed, you can come to two conclusions.
One is that he is a cold-blooded devil or forgot all about his friends ’cause he’s stupid.
The second is that he’s trying really hard to conceal that. It’s obvious that he’s hiding a lot, with the Alpha Stigma and all that by trying to act stupid and cool. I’m thinking that he’ll emotionally break down his cover sometime soon, probably near the climax.
The main boss still isn’t introduced – could it be Lucile? I honestly doubt that, as he wouldn’t reveal himself so soon if he was indeed the final boss (he’d stay as a shadow-character cough cough Ookami), but there’s a possibility as well. It’ll be interesting to watch what his real motives are (TO RULE THE WORLD~!).
I’m hoping that the scene catches up to the present after this chapter. Honestly, I doubt that it’ll be very interesting following Ryner and Ferris around buying dango and talking to random villagers…
[ANNOUNCEMENT: TOUHOU 12.8 IS… ANNOUNCED over at ZUN’S BLOG! AND GUESS WHO IT’LL STAR?! CIRNO OBVIOUSLY EXCEPT SHE BECOMES FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT. Should be 12.9 >_>]
Alright, so this EPISODE of this SERIES starts off with the ANNOUNCEMENT of TOUHOU TWELVE POINT wait did I already say that
Anyways very soon after the previous post, THIS POST IS NOW HERE! HOW AWESOME, RIGHT? What the hell am I typing I’m listening to youtube videos right now
WHEEEEEeeeeEEEEEeeeEEEEEEEEEeeeEEEEEEeeE This I S UFJN
lolollo wthat what ijheha wioMG n
–Real Post Starts Here :/–
Following the dramatic cliffhanger built upon in the previous episode, tl;dw 3 doesn’t hesitate to leap right into the action with Lucile Eris, the brother of Iris and Ferris (this is simply asking for someone to make a rap out of) brutally slicing the head off of that fat guy with a Shunpo-esque leap.
You know most of the time when someone suddenly grows a Hitler mustache you should probably run away
The spy is no doubt Kiefer, or else she would not have told Ryner to run away if they’re going towards a noncombatant zone. When Ryner refuses to run away from her, she lights FLARE MAGICK and…
STUFF FREAKING HAPPENS.
The fifty ESTABUL MAGICK NIGHTS (or magic knights, iunno) arrive and KILL. EVERYONE. Besides Sion, Kiefer, and Ryner.
Ryner no doubt gets annoyed by this so he looks at MATHEMATICAL FORMULAS.
SO THAT'S WHAT HIS EYE IS USED FOR. CHEATER
…For some reason this allows him to USE THE FULL POWER OF THE ALPHA STIGMA – HE DECONSTRUCTS THE BASIC MOLECULES, ATOMS, PROTONS, QUARKS INTO SOMETHING INFINITELY SMALL, AN INFINITE AMOUNT OF TIMES. All of the knights die easily.
Unfortunately reinforcements arrive on ROBOT UNICORNS
This is actually unedited
While Sion goes back to Roland and becomes a hero, Ryner is imprisoned and tortured. It is revealed that Kiefer’s sisters already died, and they’ve kept Kiefer in jail. Ryner is granted one request by the KING OF ROLAND (who isn’t Sion, /yet/), and requests that Kiefer be released from jail in his place. Thus he is imprisoned, but not before…
If her head can fit through the bars then couldn't Ryner just squeeze his way out
Anyways, Sion comes and lets him escape, but he declines; after all, he can nap all he want and the FOOD IS FREE. The episode ends on a weird note with Ryner commenting that he “has lots of time”.
In two sentences:
“The attack was bloody, violent and intense with lots of decapitations and dismembered remains.”
‘Unfortunately, we don’t really get to see most of the Academy’s students get chopped to pieces”
Yeah. This episode, IMO, did an interesting mix of good ol’ violence and a bunch of talking. Where usually, you’d try to balance it, this was basically “YAY TALK ABOUT STUFF” “Oh no, I got killed” “YAY TALK ABOUT STUFF IN JAIL”, reminiscent of the scherzo and trios of Beethoven. While talking about stuff there’s no action at all, and while being killed they hardly talk at all.
Though I do appreciate the fleshing out of the story, I still have no idea where the plot is going from here. Why couldn’t we just continue the story from after they killed the giant laz0r firing Sphinx-thing? This flashback doesn’t seem to have any main purpose at all except to show Ryner’s power, which they can obviously show in the present as well, and the connection between Ryner and Sion, which IMO would be better if revealed in the present. Sure, it’s not as dramatic and such, but by freeing that space you can use it to create more dramatic stuff, right?
The Alpha Stigma also seems like a stereotypical run-of-the-mill special ability – “Hey, if I use this uber power, I’ll endanger everyone around me so I never use it except during the climax of the story when everyone depends on it and then I’ll somehow manage to save everyone lololol how not obvious!”. Then again, there’s no other type of special ability – there’s only that and the severely underpowered ones.
Finally, the last thing that’s been nagging at me all along is why Kiefer’s not on the OP. She’s obviously a somewhat-important character to have survived the Magick Nights, so why is she not on it and random people who haven’t been introduced yet on it? I mean, she’s been on this show for more episodes than Shingen has been on for Durarara, yet he gets an OP sequence (that was still pretty stupid).
I’ve had low hopes for this show, but it seems to be pretty darned good so far. We’re an eighth of the way through the series and yet it’s already managed to do a lot of things.
Oh well, episode 4’s out already so I better watch that now. :/
^ BECAUSE 12.8 IS COMING OUT with THOSE AWESOME FAIRIES!

And in a completely different topic: http://www.youtube.com/lifeinaday <- some guy's trying to stalk every single person on the Earth for one day. Uh huh. Happens to be a #SuicideSaturday too. :/]
So uh this extremely late post of another extremely late anime starts with an extremely late what am I saying
Anyways, tl;dw starts off with some RANDOM KIDS beating up the FUTURE KING OF THE WORLD. The FUTURE KING OF THE WORLD becomes sad. It is revealed that SION is the child of some STUPID RICH FAT GUY and some STUPID POOR OTHER PERSON and so the children of that STUPID RICH FAT GUY and other STUPID RICH FAT PEOPLE hate him for being the child of some STUPID POOR OTHER PERSON. Understand?
Because of that RYNER decides to JUMP ON A TRAMPOLINE
Where it is revealed that…
…tl;dw: they’re back in time (how many years I don’t know), in a school. A SCHOOL WHERE PEOPLE TRAIN TO FIGHT TO THE DEATH BECAUSE THIS IS SPARTA
And so Ryner’s just some LOSER GUY who SLACKS OFF and is obviously the WORST PERSON IN THE ACADEMY because all people who sleep all day aren’t BADASS. Anyways RYNER, SION, and KIEFER, this other person who is obviously not awesome enough to be mentioned in the future, decide to make a TEAM and BEAT UP other people in the ACADEMY. Ryner’s obviously had SPARKMAKING lessons from YUUKA so he fires GIANT MASTER SPARKS at EVERYONE.
…Not really. Sion then reveals that RYNER was trained in some WEIRD MILITARY ACADEMY where everyone turned into LETHAL KILLING MACHINES and RANDOM CRAP LIKE THAT. He then asks Ryner to JOIN HIM in RULING THE WORLD but Ryner declines.
A BUNCH OF STUPID PEOPLE then chase Sion but FERRIS appears and uses her special attack: FERRIS WHEEL
Well not really, that was just a stupid pun. She just waves her dango around and everyone runs away (although one person stole some dango for his nice hat).
The FAT LADY from EPISODE ONE IS STILL FAT
Then ERIS reveals that her SISTER, IRIS, is actually A SYNONYM for a PART OF THE EYEBALL wait what
BEST CHARACTER OF THE SERIES
And then it is revealed that the kingdom of ESTABUL has invaded WHATEVER-COUNTRY-THEY’RE-IN, so the students have to MOVE to the FRONT LINES.
After Kiefer meets with Ryner and
confesses her love tells him to run away ’cause he’ll die if he gets attacked by RANDOM PEOPLE WITH SWORDS, Eris and Iris reveal (after some torturing) that ITS A TARP and that THE ENTIRE WORLD’S UNDER A TENT.
Eh not really, but FIFTY Estabul MAGICK KNIGHTS are waiting for SION and his group of STUPID STUDENTS, who actually have a SPY in their group of STUPID STUDENTS; meaning they’ll DEFINITELY DIE the next chapter. But they can’t because this is a flashback. :/
AND SO THE EPISODE ENDS WITH RYNER showing a really CREEPY YUKKUFLAN SMILE
So apparently, this episode (specifically the beginning) “set a much darker tone for this series”, with the dead dog and all that – I can’t help but feel this is the exact opposite of Occult Academy. Occult Academy was supposed to be serious, creepy, and all that, but it’s just comedy. This on the other hand, is supposed to be like most other
MMORPGesque anime; shameless self-advertising a bunch of people fighting a bunch of other people with swords and stuff and no real plotline. When there is a plotline it’s probably really, really stupid.
But tl;dw presents an actually possibly interesting storyline – epic battles between large factions and all that, without even presenting a storyline. If you’ve watched the previous episode, you’ll notice the only real storyline you can infer from it is that they’re searching for LEGENDARY TREASURE; however, it’s obvious (though not /too/ obvious) that there’s something much deeper. The first ‘flashback’ to the LEGENDARY HERO also set the same dark tone to it.
Tl;dw’s got potential. Right now, it’s not perfectly executed with us knowing about everything, but I’m sure stuff’ll get revealed and such soon.
Also apparently “we discover in the first few minutes of the episode that Ryner’s attacks have a range of 20!” But I didn’t see that :<
Oh yeah; IN AN ALTERNATE STORYLINE, RYNER doesn't jump on a trampoline, he DIVES into a SWIMMING POOL and so they don't have to fight ESTABUL. Isn't that just AWESOME?

How's that possible? You're either a mage or a swordsman.
The Legend of the Legendary Heroes takes too much time to type out so I’ll refer to it as “tl;dw” from now on – “The Legend (of the) Dark Wizards”, or if you want me to make more sense, “too long didn’t write”.
We start with the STORY of A GREAT SWORDSWIZARD who CAST SHAME UPON ALL LOWER LEVELED SWORDSWIZARDS by SINGLEHANDEDLY WIPING OUT EVERY SINGLE MONSTER IN THE ENTIRE WORLD. Eventually, the SWORDSWIZARD DIED because the PLAYER DIED because his MOM DIED because his DAD DIED because his UNCLE DIED because his CAT DIED because his CAR DROWNED IN A LAKE because the LAKE DROWNED IN A WELL OFF THE COAST OF FINLAND because of SOMETHING.
Actually he may be still alive but obviously SEVERAL HUNDRED YEARS HAVE GONE BY (which is equivalent to 3 real-life hours).
Anyways it is revealed that the SWORDSWIZARD wears CONTACT LENSES and HACKS to kill all of the monsters (obviously). SEVERAL HUNDRED YEARS LATER, some NOTSWORDSBUTSTILLWIZARD (from now on known NOT as NOTSWORDSBUTSTILLWIZARD but rather as Lute RYNER) reveals HIS MODIFIED FANBOY CONTACT LENSES because the swordswizard is liek so kawaii desu yo ne squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee~~~~ <3 <3 <3
The enemy forces start to disco ’cause they’re DISCO BANDITS, but the enemy commander realizes that DISCOISTANCE IS FUTILE. Thus he tries to get as much screentime as he can before he disappears.
Suddenly, A SWORDSWOMAN APPEARS!
She slices off the swords of all of the enemy soldiers who have ceased to disco. As for those who are still discoing, well… they’re still discoing.
And thus they continue their quest to EAT DANGO.
Also heals 20 HP and 200 MP in Maplestory
Anyways, some elderly shopkeeper explains that the Dango will cost 600 mesos, but as they have already killed several Mushm-
Anyways, some elderly shopkeeper explains that she’s fat.
Who’s she referring to? The hero/demon Astal SION.
…who happens to be the KING OF ROLAND. It is explained that ROLAND (a place) is fighting against NELPHA (another place) and that SHOPKEEPER (a place) is fighting to stop being fat (an impossibility).
SHE'S EATING THE DANGO EVEN THOUGH IT GAVE HER CRUCIAL INFORMATION
The SWORDSWOMAN (who from now on will be referred to as Eris FERRIS (wheel?)), reveals that SION is EEEEEEEEVVVVVVVIIIILLLLLLLLL.
So evil that he’s STOLEN EIRIN’S HAIR.
EIRIN EIRIN EIRIN EIRIN
Anyways, RYNER and FERRIS decide to go TOMB-RAIDING so they CUT OPEN the stone door of a tomb.
Unfortunately there are TRAPS there and people get BURNT ’cause TORCHWEAVER IS ALIVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
RYNER TURNED FAT
Actually, they’re trying to find the LEGENDARY treasures of the LEGENDARY heroes of LEGEND.
Anyways, going back to SION and you’ll find that he’s getting MURDERED by a LITTLE KID. The LITTLE KID realizes he’s MURDERED the wrong person so he creates a TIME WARP and lo and behold SION as ALIVE and helps the LITTLE KID find his SISTER, who has been TAKEN by some KING NOT IMPORTANT ENOUGH TO HAVE A MENTION ON THE WIKIPEDIA PAGE.
RYNER and FERRIS are finally CAUGHT by their STALK-er… CAPTAIN OF THE ROLAND ARMY, Callaud MILK! But ’cause dey coo’ liek dat dey walk away just liek dat yo. SO MILK MAD AND ATTACK WITH LIGHTNING YO. BUT RYNER STEALS FROM KONJIKI NO GASH BELL AND BLOCKS EVERYTHING
Except for those pesky underground attacks.
Anyways Milk gets jealous (and radioactively purple) and Ferris reveals the truth:
Not really, Milk was just Ryner’s childhood friend. Anyways the temple conveniently collapses on top of them.
Rather, the temple turns into a monster and starts firing lazors at them
BUT THEN FERRIS’S JEWEL THING SENDS A MASTER SPARK FLYING THRUOGH THE AIR TOWADRS THME (CLCIK ON THE IMGAE) CAUSNIG CAMREA SHKAEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
ADN IT KLILS THE MOUNTIANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN ADN MAEKS A CRATREEEEEEEEEE
Vredefort's got nothing on ya
Iunno. It doesn’t look like many people are blogging this (or I’m not following enough blogs :P), meaning the aniblogging community seems to have lowered expecations for this show. Maybe it’s the expectations that the world will be poorly constructed, or just the title is too damn cheesy.
But I, for one, am looking forward to this show. I was expecting a lot more comedy but tl;dw seems to have a much more… serious? tone to it. It’s probably not going to last long (2 seasons at most?) so I’m looking forward to see how they’ll build up a climax of such a large problem. This ain’t no Ikebukuro; this is the entire (tl;dw) world we’re talking about.
Also, if Eirin’s hairstyle is here, that means that Reisen’s hairstyle must be too. That just gets instant watch points (Strike Witches, anyone? In the OP I saw a Reisen).
Eh, you can’t judge anything on the first episode, but now that I’ve started watching it I probably won’t drop it; which means you’ll get to read MORE OF THESE HORRIBLE POSTS
So THAT'S where Yuzuru went
